About the Mobility Centre

FAQ
To support returning Georgian migrants in their re-integration the Mobility Centre was set up. You can find us in Tbilisi, in Tamarashvili street 15 A in the premises of the Ministry for internal displaced People from the occupied Regions, Refugees and Accommodation. It is open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:30. Two Georgian speaking counselors are working there, ready to give advice on different fields.
General Counseling
If you have been a long time abroad you might be surprised how daily life in Georgia has changed. The counselors will update you on how do you can get for example new documents etc. and guide you into the Georgia of today. Besides that they will offer you, based on a comprehensive interview, to elaborate a personal re-integration plan which will ease the process of getting familiar again with the Georgian reality. There will be possibilities for Vocational and educational training which can also be provided as a result of the above mentioned interview. It can be training on the job as a kind of internship or a training provided by the vocational and educational training centers. Did you start some education or job training abroad and did not finish yet? Ask our counselors, they will support you if possible, to finalize what you have begun. You are not sure that after a long time abroad the Georgian language of your kid/s is not good enough for being successful in school? We can help with language courses.
Job placement
Of course you are looking for a job which is a real challenge today. We will support you to develop your CV with all the features nowadays employers looking at, even more with the before mentioned training and the help of the Job-and Placement Centers were we have a direct connection to, we might be able for direct job placement.
Business Start-Up
Are you thinking about starting your own business? Tell us your idea and together we might find a way to make this idea feasible. Just a hint “The more elaborated your idea is, the better we can advise”.In two exceptional cases we can provide you even with accommodation. If you live far away from Tbilisi and you have no accommodation possibility here, while you visit the center, we can provide you with an overnight stay. The same is possible if you arrive at the airport and you have no one to stay at.

1. Can I register online or do I visit the Mobility Centre for registration?
You can register online as a first step, but to receive general counseling or other assistance packages you have to visit the Mobility Centre at Tamarashvili Str. 15a, 0177 Tbilisi.
2. Do I need an appointment?
You don’t need to make an appointment. You can visit us Mo.-Fr. from 10-17.30hrs. If you live outside Tbilisi and you make an appointment by telephone, we do our best to assist you first.
3. Which documents do I need when visiting the Mobility Centre?
You need just your ID-card for general counseling or to get assistance in job-seeking. For other assistance packages you have to bring any document proving your stay abroad (e.g. passport).
4. Can I send documents electronically?
You can send your documents electronically, but you will be required to bring the documents to the Mobility Centre when you first visit.
5. Can I speak Georgian with the Mobility Centre staff?
Yes, you can speak Georgian since all counselors at the Mobility Centre are Georgian nationals.
6. I want to start my own business. Can I get some support from the Mobility Centre?
Yes, you can receive assistance for starting up your own business. We can help you to develop your business plan and to start up the business. For more details please visit the Mobility Centre.
7. Upon arrival to Georgia, do I have to apply for assistance immediately?
For general counseling or assistance in job-seeking it does not matter how long ago you returned to Georgia. To get other assistance packages you have to register for assistance within one year after return.
8. Is assistance of the MC limited to returnees from certain countries?
It doesn’t matter from which country you are arriving. You are eligible for assistance after return from any country in the world.
9. Can I ask for some assistance if I stayed abroad illegally?
It does not matter what kind of residence you had abroad (study, legal employment, as illegal migrant etc.).
10. Does the period of stay abroad matter?
To get general counseling or help with job-seeking it does not matter, for other services your stay abroad should have been at least 6 months.
11. Can I also get assistance after deportation?
Yes, assistance is also available in case of deportation. However you should be registered at the Mobility Center within one year after return/deportation.
12. Can I get cash as part of the assistance package?
The Mobility Centre can help paying your trainings/education, other services are in kind. There is no assistance in cash.
13. Do you have a specific assistance package for children?
Assistance does not include any specific package for children, although the Mobility Centre can assist children who need some help in learning Georgian to find a Georgian language course.
14. Does the Mobility Center assist with finding job?
Yes, for more details, please, come to the Mobility Centre.
